Description
Muster sheds are the places kept in tea estates for collecting and measuring tea leaves after plucking them. They are found as the roadside huts to load measured tea leaves into the trucks to transport to the factory for further processing. Here are the supervisors or conductors except laborers who participate the measuring .Directly and indirectly, over one million Sri Lankans are employed in the tea industry. A large proportion of the workforce is young women and the minimum working age is twelve. Worker women are supposed to reap more than 18 Kg daily to get a bonus. They carry their baskets full in tender leaves to the MUSTER SHEDS to be weighed. Supervisors measure each load and make arrangements to transport them to the factory.
