Traditional and old method paddy field ploughing can be seen not only in Sri lanka but also in other nearby Asian countries. Large machineries are very common in large fields where production of paddy is done in mass production. Some people specially when they could not afford to hire large machines or cultivated in narrow beds when to suit the hill slopes. Some farmers do not maintain buffeloes . They leave animals in distant planes where they can be grazed and fetch them whenever necessary.
