Description

This small “Baby Austin,” which came out in 1952, was originally called the Austin Seven, a name inherited from that original or “real” Austin Seven that arrived in 1922. It was Austin’s best-selling model until 1932, was built until 1939 and did a great deal to establish Austin as a successful motor manufacturer. The Austin A30, powered by an all new 803cc, four cylinder, OHV engine known as the A-series. Ironically the A30’s new powerplant found its way into the Minor’s engine bay as the two rival companies merged in 1952 to form BMC (British Motor Corporation).
