Sri Lanka is the world’s fourth-largest producer of tea. In 1995, it was the world’s leading exporter of tea (rather than producer), with 23% of the total world export. After plucking, the tea is very quickly taken to the muster sheds to be weighed and monitored under close supervision, and then the tea is transported to the factories by trucks for a long process to produce best flavored tea.
